Great Smokies Aglow

I debated about what to title this painting because there are so many exuberant emotions bound up in me every time I visit the Great Smoky Mountains during the fall. Sometimes, I steal from songs that I enjoy. I was sorely tempted to call this "Soul Sauce" in honor of an old Verve jazz record label remix that I've been jamming to in my studio. After all, my outings to this amazing national park always soothe my soul.

But I didn't want to conjure an image of a barbecue stand (!), so I went with the more conventional and descriptive "...Aglow" title because this painting really is a full-throated celebration of the golden late afternoon light that plays so beautifully against the autumn foliage.
