I caught this gorgeous location during a springtime visit to western North Carolina. I loved the sparkle and color of the water as it tumbled over the boulders.
The relatively easy and accessible hiking trail leading to this waterfall is located off of Highway 129, also known as The Tail of the Dragon because it packs an absurd 300+ turns into 11 miles of road as one climbs over the mountains from Tennessee into North Carolina. It's a weird roadway because there are for-profit photography enterprises that set up along the twisting road and take snap shots of the hot rods and souped up motorcycles as they rip around the curves and bends.
Who knew that the boundary between Tennessee and North Carolina is The Place to be seen??
